CO-DESIGN PROJECT
In my computer generated imagery class we completed a co-design project with another design student in India. My partner Shokat was an ajrakh artisan block printer. My partner and I communicated through WhatsApp and sent back and forth messages about our design history, skills as well as what we were inspired by. Using inspiration from Shokat's previous design and traditional ajrakh motifs I was able to create a dynamic collection of stoles that is modern but keeps in mind the traditional work of artisans such as Shokat.
